In December, you helped to make Christmas special for over 700 families in Southern Tasmania. That’s more than 1,200 children that received gifts and toys, thanks to you!
30-year-old Kristi is a single mother from Hobart. After bills and expenses, she has just $50 left over every week. She was worried that her current financial situation would mean her two children had to miss out on Christmas, until she found out about the Christmas Assistance Program (CAP).
“I was broke and worried that I wouldn’t be able to give my kids a Christmas at all”, says Kristi.
“We really needed the extra help this year”.
Thanks to you, Kristi and her family were able to get the assistance they needed this Christmas.
“CAP was great! The kids got two toys each, we had food and vouchers to buy groceries and even a pack with shampoo and stuff”.
Thanks to the generosity of people like you, Kristi and the kid’s Christmas went ahead without a hitch.
“I don’t know what I would have done if it wasn’t for the Christmas Assistance Program. I guess it would have been a very broke, very stressful Christmas for us. We more than likely would have had to go without”.
Kristi’s message for all of those who donated to the Christmas Appeal is one of gratitude: “It’s helped so many people. Last year was such a hard year for a lot of people.
Thank you to all of you for helping those who are less fortunate”.
With Christmas seeming like a distant memory, it’s time to reflect on how your continued support
has helped those in our community doing it tough.
Your kindness in these difficult times, meant that those struggling to make ends meet could share in the joy of Christmas — Thank you!
