Community Fundraising

We are lucky enough to have many people out in the local community fundraise for us during the year, to help us raise vital funds for our diverse range of programs. It really inspires us to see the kindness and compassion the community has for their fellow Southern Tasmanias who are doing it tough, and we want to shout it from the roof tops how much we cherish our community fundraisers. Please find below just some of the amazing fundraising taking place in our community!

Wheelchair Accessible Van Donated by Ron!
13 February 2021

The amazing Ronald Marriott has saved up for his new wheelchair accessible van for the last 15 years. When the day finally came in December 2020, it was suggested that he donate his old wheelcahir accessible van to Hobart City Mission!

Ronald jumped at the opportunity, knowing the benefits and freedom that having a van like his can have for people living with a disability and able-bodied people alike.

The van was donated to the Mountain View Program in February 2021 and will be shared between Mountain View & Disability.

Thank you Ron, for your amazing donation of a wheelchair accessible van to our programs! Your generosity and kindness will mean that more people have access to their community ! ✨💕

Military Mumma HQ Fundraiser
13 February 2021

Military Mumma Headquarters hosted a fundraising event on Saturday 13 Feb to raise money for boot camp sessions at Small Steps and DIY Dads each month for a year! 💪

The morning was an absolute hit with an incredible turn out. They raised enough to cover the classes at both programs for a year AND more (which was donated directly to HCM)! The trainers also held a “Burpee for a Buck” challenge where clients and attendees could donate a dollar for every burpee they wanted to see their trainer do! Not surprisingly, some trainers ended up with over 180 burpees! (wow)

We would like to thank Military Mumma HQ and all their amazing clients who came out and raised money to run Boot Camps at Small Steps and DIY Dads. We know these sessions will improve not only physical & emotional wellbeing but will also create space for conversation and connection among residents.

Thanks Military Mumma HQ! 💕✨
