New City Mission Op Shop Store Launch
Saturday 21 November 2020
12-6pm, 15 Main Road Moonah
Hobart City Mission held a grand opening of their new MEGA Op Shop store at the old Paul’s Warehouse in Moonah on the 21st of November, 2020!
Rotary ran a BBQ for hungry punters who braved the COVID-19 queues, eager to sneak a peak inside the biggest clothing Op Shop in Tasmania and grab a bargain.
The Op Shop opening was a huge success and continues to be a fantastic store for anyone looking to purchase good quality clothing, manchester & bric-a-brac at affordable prices.
We are lucky enough to have many people out in the local community fundraise for us during the year, to help us raise vital funds for our diverse range of programs. It really inspires us to see the kindness and compassion the community has for their fellow Southern Tasmanias who are doing it tough, and we want to shout it from the roof tops how much we cherish our community fundraisers. Please find below just some of the amazing fundraising taking place in our community!
Wheelchair Accessible Van Donated by Ron!
13 February 2021
The amazing Ronald Marriott has saved up for his new wheelchair accessible van for the last 15 years. When the day finally came in December 2020, it was suggested that he donate his old wheelcahir accessible van to Hobart City Mission!
Ronald jumped at the opportunity, knowing the benefits and freedom that having a van like his can have for people living with a disability and able-bodied people alike.
The van was donated to the Mountain View Program in February 2021 and will be shared between Mountain View & Disability.
Thank you Ron, for your amazing donation of a wheelchair accessible van to our programs! Your generosity and kindness will mean that more people have access to their community !
