A home and supportive community for men
Helping older men out of homelessness and into long-term housing
What is the Coming Home Program?
Coming Home provides a long-term home and supportive community for older men who have been experiencing homelessness. The Coming Home Program is a block of 12 one or two-bedroom units in Rokeby, Tasmania.
We aim to build a supportive place for people as they move out of homelessness. A support worker is on-site at Coming Home to help people settle in, and connect residents with important services and community groups.
Coming Home is a forever home. Many of the people who live at Coming Home have stayed at our other programs such as Safe Space and Mountain View.
How does it help?
The Coming Home program helps by:
🏠 Giving older men a long-term home
💞 Creating a strong, caring community
🤝 Providing friendly support staff to help residents settle into their new home
How to apply for the Coming Home program
A Housing Worker or other support provider will need to help you apply, by filling in an Expression of Interest form. (Please make sure you download the file, rather than viewing through your browser).
A reminder that you must be on the Housing Tasmania priority waitlist for your application to be accepted. The Coming Home Program is for males who are around 45 years and older.
Email your completed expression of interest form to mountainview@hobartcitymission.org.au.

How you can help the Coming Home Program
The ongoing costs of Coming Home are fully funded by generous donations from the community.
