Local businesses helping others through the 100% Hobart Auction

The 100% Hobart Auction kicks off at the end of the month, and we’re calling on local businesses to dig deep this winter and donate to help raise money. The online auction is run in partnership with 7HOFM and raises funds for people who are facing hardship and homelessness in Southern Tasmania.

Already a number of generous local businesses have donated items, services or experiences to help raise the much-needed funds. With just three weeks until the auction, Hobart City Mission is appealing to business-owners to get involved in the auction and donate an item. All funds raised through the auctioning of items will help to provide shelter, food, warm clothing, emotional support and practical support to those who are facing hardship or experiencing homelessness in our community.

CEO of Hobart City Mission, John Stubley, says that the auction is a way for businesses to support their community, and reach new customers and clients.

“The auction is a great way to support people doing it tough, all whilst getting your business name out into the local community”, says John.

“We’re seeing a steady increase in the number of people needing assistance with food packs, food vouchers, and other support so it’s important that we can meet this need. The auction is a fun way for people to get involved, and we are so grateful to the businesses who donate to help us make this happen”.

Luke Jamieson is the Centre Manager for Northgate Shopping Centre and has donated an item every year since the start of the 100% Hobart Auction in 2019.

“We’re pleased to be able to contribute to this important cause. We’ve seen a great community response when we’ve partnered with Hobart City Mission for winter clothing collections at Northgate in the past, so we feel this is a great way for us to show our support as a Centre.”

If you are a business and would like to donate an item, please email Hobart City Mission by clicking here, call on 6215 4200, or visit the 100% Hobart Auction Facebook page.

The auction will be held in conjunction with 7HOFM on Friday 28th May from 7.30am to 4pm. The auction will be held completely online, which means you can bid from the comfort of your own home.

7HOFM will keep you updated with all of the details of the auction on the day which includes big-ticket items such as vouchers for shopping centres, luxury accommodation, dining at some of Hobart’s best restaurants and family entertainment.

Your generous bids will raise money for the people who have been hit hardest by Coronavirus. HCM and 7HOFM would like to thank you for your support in these difficult times.
