Hobart City Mission prepares to get wheels rolling at the Great Southern Pram Push

MEDIA RELEASE

For Immediate Release

Hobart City Mission’s major fundraising event, the Great Southern Pram Push is this Saturday, and is set to be a family fun day for the whole family.

This year’s Great Southern Pram Push is jam packed with activities, rides and entertainment, all included in the $10 ticket price. Activities include giant board games, face painting, crazy bikes, novelty races, photo booths, petting zoo, meet and greet with superheroes and Angelina Ballerina and more.

Larger rides such as jumping castles, spinning tea cups and train rides are on offer through the purchase of a token for a small cost.

The novelty races include the flagship Pram Push open to everyone to participate in, as well as the Pollie Push, a battle against some of our local MPs and Aldermen, including Labor MP Scott Bacon.

Held at Montrose Bay High School Oval, the event raises vital funds for Hobart City Mission’s Small Steps program, which receives no government funding and therefore only operates through the support of the community.

Hobart City Mission’s Small Steps program provides supported accommodation for young mums and their babies who are at risk of homelessness or having the child placed in State Care. The program provides support through life and parenting skill training, as well as support in gaining employment or education to transition them to independent living.

“We have changed the format of the event from previous years with the hope of providing much fun and entertainment to all,” says Hobart City Mission CEO, John Stubley, “We have been overwhelmed with the support of so many community groups and businesses to help make this event a success, and to support our Small Steps program.”

“I welcome everyone to attend the event for a family fun day out. We have worked hard to make the event affordable for most, whilst also raising the vital funds needed,” says John.

The event is open to the public from 11-3pm at Montrose Bay High Oval, this Saturday, March 24th.
