Commonwealth Bank lend helping hand to collect presents for HCM’s Christmas Assistance Program.

From the 20th of November, all Commonwealth Bank branches in Southern Tasmania will be collecting donations of toys to support Hobart City Mission’s Christmas Assistance Program.

The Southern Tasmanian community are encouraged to donate unwrapped new toys and gifts for children between the ages of 0 and 15 years at their local Commonwealth Bank branch.

“It is thanks to the generosity of the community and businesses like Commonwealth Bank that we are able to provide assistance to such a large number of individuals and families,” says John Stubley, Hobart City Mission CEO.

“Hobart City Mission is very honoured to have Commonwealth Bank on board to help with the collection of donations. It will make a huge difference to the assistance provided to individuals and families in Southern Tasmania.”

Hobart City Mission’s Christmas Assistance Program provides assistance to those in Southern Tasmania who struggle with the financial stress of Christmas. Assistance can include food vouchers, toys for children and food hampers.

In 2016, Hobart City Mission provided 615 children with presents through the Christmas Assistance Program.

“It is our pleasure to contribute to such an important provision to the community,” says Sharon Cozens, Commonwealth Bank North Hobart Branch Manager.

“We encourage all our customers and community members to drop into their local branch to make a small donation that can make a huge difference to a child’s Christmas.”

Donations can be made from November 20th to December 15th. Commonwealth Bank branch locations can be found at www.commbank.com.au/digital/locate-us/
