Introducing the Blokes BBQ Breakfast!

If you’re a father, brother, son, or just an awesome best mate! …you can benefit from information and resources for blokes, to celebrate and get the most from life!

Live Music from Luca Brasi!

These Tassie blokes will be joining us with an acoustic set from their recently released album, Stay

Whether it’s because of their from-the-heart lyrics, their warm and welcoming stage presence, or their undying support for the local music scene, Luca Brasi truly are the brothers we all wish we had.

Hear from Guest Speaker Matt Bevilaqua!

Born in Hobart, Tasmania Matt joined the Clifton Beach Surf life Saving club as a nipper.

Matt was the first ever Tasmanian to qualify for the Nutri-Grain Ironman Series, and in 2018 the first ever Nutri-Grain Ironman Champion!

Only last year became the first ever paddler to surf Shipstern’s Bluff on a racing paddleboard.

At only 26 years of age Matt is only at the beginning of his career and has many years left in the sport he has loved ever since training in the icy cold conditions of Clifton Beach.

FAQs

Can women attend the Blokes BBQ Breakfast?

Absolutely. Although the event is centered around blokey things, we welcome women to join in the conversation.

How can my business get involved?

We have a number of sponsorship packages available for donations of money, services discounts or product donations for our silent auction. Please call 6215 4200 or email awheeler@hobartcitymission.org.au to speak to Anita about these opportunities.

I’m a tradie. Can I come in my work gear?

Yes! The event is relaxed standing up breakfast in an old shed, so please feel welcome to come along with your high vis and steel caps.

I have dietary requirements. Will there be food available for me?

Yes! Please specify your requirements when booking your tickets. We will then have a food option to meet your needs. Please identify yourself with one of our volunteers at the event.

Hobart City Mission

For a single father who finds himself homeless, or at risk of homelessness, there are many barriers around accommodation within the system, that can prevent a father from receiving or maintaining custody.

For many fathers in Tasmania, this is the reality they are faced with.

Hobart City Mission’s DIY Dads program provides 8 self-contained units for dads with either full or part time care of their children. The dads can be any age, and are able to stay at the DIY Dads program for up to two years.

Each resident dad is taught skills that can assist them in living independently in the community, such as budgeting, maintaining a tenancy and making healthy lifestyle choices.

The DIY Dads program receives no on-going government funding.
