Retail Operations Program

The aim of our retail operations program is to generate funds from the collection of donations through marketing and the sale of goods within our retail stores. These funds are directed towards supporting the charitable and welfare activities of the Hobart City Mission in Southern Tasmania.

Our retail program offers many volunteering opportunities, including work experience opportunities for those seeking to enter the workforce.

The main retail areas where we require volunteer assistance and offer experience may include:

  • Customer service
  • Cash handling
  • EFTPOS/credit card processing
  • Assisting with receipt of new stock
  • Sorting/rearranging goods for display
  • Recording stock transactions of goods received/goods sold
  • Sorting of goods received as donations
  • Providing assistance to truck driver for pick-up and delivery service
